Learning Designs: 

SUMMIT

Summits are in-depth instructional sessions with hands-on learning and specific takeaways. 

WORKSHOP

Workshops are instructional session with hands-on learning with an emphasis on “make-and-take” ideas. 

TECH PLAYGROUND

Playgrounds are informational, hands-on instructional experiences allowing the facilitators to highlight a technological idea.  Participants are able to explore their creative side within the provided time frame. 

PANEL

Panels are a diverse and focused discussion around a particular topic that can include questions from the audience to gain a deeper understanding. 

FILM ROOM

Participants view a documentary or film related to a specific topic.  The film is followed by a Core Conversation about the topic. 

CORE CONVERSATIONS

Core Conversations are speaker-led, open conversations with participants around a particular topic.  They are also known as “Campfires.”

SHOW & TELL

Show and Tell is a forum for sharing about a topic, practice, or idea. 

MEETUP 

Meetups are networking events that encourage communities of learners to connect with each other sharing a similar passion or interest. 

MENTOR CONVERSATION 

One-on-one talks to receive advice and guidance in a particular field or topic. 

FYI 20s

FYI’s are short 20 minute focused presentations highlighting information or emerging ideas. 

ROUND TABLE

Round Tables bring together experts for an informal and enlightening discussion on a specific topic. Participants will spend 20 minutes at each table before switching.

FOCUS 15s

Focus 15s are solo presentations that feature a group of four presentations taking place in a one-hour time block covering a specific theme, topic, or trend. 

PITCH IT

Have an idea to improve instruction? Pitch it to a panel of leaders to gain feedback and ….. 

THE MAIN IDEA

Based on the idea created by The Main Idea, participants will review a summary of a recently published educational resource (book) and discussions to enhance instruction. 

REHEARSALs

Rehearsals allow participants to practice a particular skill or strategies to improve and enhance instruction.  DATA DIG

Data digs are speaker-led discussions around the root cause of current problems evident in district and/or state data.
